The angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she is to be the Mother of God.
Mary was created to be the Mother of God. From all eternity, God chose her for that role—no one else could take her place.
In the same way, God created you for a particular mission, a role that no one else can live or love exactly the way you can. The world will try to push you to compare, to imitate, to chase someone else’s calling—but holiness is never found in becoming a copy of another soul.
Look at Mary: her greatness is in her yes to what God asked of her, not anyone else.
So don’t waste your life wishing you were someone different. Ask instead, quietly and honestly:
Lord, who did You create me to be? What is my place in Your plan, and how can I say “yes” like Mary did?
