The Agony in the Garden

Matthew 26:36-46

Jesus suffers greatly and sweats blood in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Surrender

With our narrow sight and needy desires, we often mistake what is truly Good; so often our will is not God’s. When a trial—foreseen or sudden—arrives and we beg for help, whisper, “Your will be done,” so the heart learns to let God be Master of our days. Jesus’ suffering was necessary for the greater good—love poured out not only for me, but for every soul. Your suffering is not just yours it is his and the worlds. When you pray, do you truly allow that His will may differ from yours?
